Everything is connected in the universe: every galaxy, star, planet, moon, creature, cell and atom. Even every idea, hope and dream is connected like the threads of a great eternal tapestry which has no center and has no edge. There cannot be something beyond the universe because the universe is all inclusive.

We cannot glimpse this truth using the faculty of logic because the mind cannot comprehend the infinite. But, the soul of emotion can feel the eternal.

The force of life is eternal. It flows in, and around, and through, all of creation. One cell in our body is individual, but its individualism is defined by its relationship with all other cells. Each cell is part of the whole body and exists because the whole body exists.

Science can peer into matter with a microscope and into matter with a telescope. Through a microscope, cells can be viewed as constituent parts of a mass of cells called organic matter. Through a telescope, planets and stars can be viewed as constituent parts of a mass of stars called organic galaxies. Life exists everywhere, in all things. To understand the connectedness of all things is to understand that we are all one and life flows on within and without everything.

Consider the smallest particle that man can conceive of, the atom. The atom is comprised of a nucleus around which protons and electrons revolve. The energy of life is contained in the atom. Cells are composed of atoms.

Consider the heliocentric solar system which can be viewed through the telescope. It appears to us as a very large atom. The space between the orbitals and the sun seems to be great, but it is just a matter of scale. The atom is minute, but it is as vast as a solar system in a different dimension. By analogy, if we considered the space of an atom to be the size of a large stadium, the nucleus would be the approximate size of a soccer ball in the center of the stadium. The orbitals would be about the size of marbles and would be spinning around the nucleus in the far reaches of the outermost bleachers. So, you see, the atom is a very large composition of energy/matter and there is more space than particles just like a solar system. Yet, when millions of atoms are combined, matter forms and we perceive the millions of atoms together, not as separated miniature stadiums with vast amounts of space between the particles, but as solid pieces of matter. So, it is when the eye perceives a distant galaxy comprised of millions of solar systems… we perceive a mass of light and the vast spaces between the particles seem to disappear. The energy of life and light flows through the particles and the spaces between particles in every dimension binding the universe together as one. To perceive the self as a constituent being connected to all beings by a pervasive life force is to know that we are part of the All and Everything. We come to the realization that we are One, and this is enlightening.

This is a teaching of the great cosmic metaphysic. The importance of this teaching is to learn to expand universal awareness and feel, with the higher emotional sense, the inextricable connectedness of all things. The ethic of this teaching is applied in the understanding that no one is truly separated from another; what seems to be separation is only illusion. We are all parts of one speci-al being called humanity. The practical application of the knowledge of connectedness in life is in our observance of the ancient Golden Rule, do unto others as you would have others do unto you.

Enlightenment empowers us with the knowledge and wisdom of spiritual cooperation which opposes competition. In cooperation we work toward a common aim. Where cooperation leads to peace, competition leads to war.

As the many diverse cells in our body work together in the spirit of one common aim to create, sustain and renew our being, so, must the many diverse people work together toward one common aim in the body of humanity. To view one’s self as a separate being is an incomplete view. To view the self as apart from the entire being of humanity – and from all creation - is to spiritually isolate the self. Sense the connectedness of all things. Feel the primordial energy of all creation surge through you. Your soul is a sun in the great galaxy of humanity. Your ideas, your feelings, your dreams, actions, and the words you speak are orbitals of energy. Glimpse the truth. Life flows on within you and without you.
